Same, Same
mediocrity abounds...
Why do people try to fit in? What is so bad about standing out from the crowd? Is culture to blame? Why does everything and everyone around us revel in the uniformity? Does growing up mean that you conform to society’s narratives? Is there a bigger agenda at play? These and many questions surround our will to conform and to be liked by others.
A lot of people believe they are different but a closer look will reveal they are not. The question is, are they honestly self reflecting?
Conformity is the name of the game in the 21st century, where social influence through media applications are manipulating our beliefs and behavior towards a self depleting one. The desire to be liked is brought to the fore front with the addiction to social media all in the name of engaging. Engaging to what end, I ask?
The most famous conformity experiment displaying how people suppress what they believed to be true was by Solomon Asch in 1951 in his line judgement experiment;
According to another scholar Kelman, H.C. (1958) there are three different types of conformity;
“ Compliance (or group acceptance)
This occurs 'when an individual accepts influence because he hopes to achieve a favorable reaction from another person or group. He adopts the induced behavior because....he expects to gain specific rewards or approval and avoid specific punishment or disapproval by conformity' (Kelman, 1958, p. 53).
Internalization (genuine acceptance of group norms)
This occurs 'when an individual accepts influence because the content of the induced behavior - the ideas and actions of which it is composed - is intrinsically rewarding. He adopts the induced behavior because it is congruent [consistent] with his value system' (Kelman, 1958, p. 53).
Identification (or group membership)
This occurs 'when an individual accepts influence because he wants to establish or maintain a satisfying self-defining relationship to another person or group' (Kelman, 1958, p. 53).
Man (1969) identified a fourth type of conformity:
Ingratiational
This is when a person conforms to impress or gain favor/acceptance from other people.
It is similar to normative influence, but is motivated by the need for social rewards rather than the threat of rejection, i.e., group pressure does not enter the decision to conform.”
As chads operating in an irrational world, how do we navigate this sameness in culture. Our schools have drummed it in us to be like everyone else and when we graduate society reminds us of the same narrative. Evident through movies, tv series, fashion, architecture, sports, music, modern art and, books.
No genuine workmanship is put into anything these days, just more of the same recycled crap. The marvel series is tiring and boring. Okay, we get it, a superhero fights the bad guy, probably has a hot girlfriend somewhere, and eventually saves the day. Don’t get me started on the bullshit feminist mantra like we recently heard Keir Starmer (Leader of the UK Labor Party) babble on that the next James Bond should be a woman! . This same puppet also suggested that “it is wrong to say only women have cervix”, in his defense of transgenderism. Please watch his stupidity in full display;
My point here is that conformity has graduated to a point where not only minds are meant to be uniform, but also our physical bodies. Men are wrong to be masculine, women are celebrated for being sluts, men can become women and vice versa. I will expand on the transhumanist agenda in future entries as the plan for the elimination of gender is already underway to a uniform oneness between man and machine.
Meanwhile, If you want to have a laugh at this madness, enjoy;
We are lacking value in our society!
What happened to the bravery men espoused in history? The warriors that fought for independence and freedom will be rolling in their graves at the voluntary destruction of our own existence. We have dropped the ball and we have to locate it ASAP!
We are so mediocre, it is astonishing and nauseating.
I can not witness it any longer but to put my words and body out there in contribution to the struggle that many have been engaged in on these topics. There are so many brave people dedicating their energies towards these issues. I trail them in achievements but, I am ready to speak out.
I have been called to lend my voice and so will I.
See you tomorrow.
