Who's the bad guy?
A simplistic view on the world is to divide it into a narrative of good vs evil. This makes it easy for simpletons and MSM to be able to navigate the numerous nuances that rear their ugly heads when discussing complicated topics in politics, economics, international relations and history.
Is it a surprise why we all love movies so much? It simplifies issues that many use it as a way to perceive the world. Maybe there is something in there as to why we are obsessed with celebrity culture? and the proliferation of Hollywood in politics. How come many forget that there is a script? and the roles are merely actors/actresses acting? I am reminded of that memorable scene in Scarface where Tony Montana alluded to why we need the good vs evil narrative in our rhetoric (emphasis mine)..
“What you lookin' at?...You all a bunch of fuckin' assholes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be. You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, 'That's the bad guy.' So...what that make you? Good You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie.. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie... So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way!”
Say hello to our new bad guy….Putin vis a vis Russia!!!
All the actions to date of Russia/Putin has been in response to the American/Western/NATO aggression.
Wasn’t it a security threat to Russia when the west stole all their reserves and started sanctioning them to the high heavens?
So now we have come to a point where everything that is bad is, “all Putin’s fault”. Even as the economy has been in a downtrend before the invasion.
The only thing America produces is the USD, working class labor and jobs have been outsourced to China and the developing world eroding the middle class and exacerbating the inequality gap. Housing, education, and medical bills are unaffordable and many are all slaves to debt.
Of course, most of the problems have been a direct or indirect result of a manipulated and easily debased money.
Seems Russia and China saw this coming a mile away. No wonder both think in terms of long term cycles while we in the west are mostly short term based.
